Dr. Sheueling Chang Shantz is a Distinguished Engineer in Sun Microsystems Laboratories. She joined Sun in 1984 with a Master degree and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from California Institute of Technology. She also received a Master in Business Management from Stanford Business School in 1998. Sheueling's background includes network security, RSA and Elliptic Curve public key cryptography (ECC), electronic commerce, and Internet banking and payment systems.

Her current interest is in the area of efficient algorithms for implementing Elliptic Curve Cryptosystems, and the development of hardware cryptographic accelerators for RSA and ECC.
