Paolo Di Francesco has a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering with specialization in Computer Architectures. He joined CRES (Centro per la Ricerca Elettronica in Sicilia) in 2001.

He's involved in many topics related to computer architectures (2D/3D graphics, rendering systems, Parallel Programming, Obecjt Oriented Languages, Translators/Compilers, Unix Systems) and telecommunication systems (streaming services, DiffServ, Policy, RSVP and RTSP).

He is the leader of the team involved in the POLLENS ITEA project and his main studies are related to QoS, and integration between DiffServ and various technologies.
