Scott Poretsky is Principal Marketing Engineer at Avici Systems. One of Scott's key focus areas involves working with Carriers and ISPs to develop test scenarios and procedures for router evaluation. Prior to this role, Scott was Avici's Manager of Product Verification and led the development of Avici's carrier-class router test program. He has been an active contributor for router benchmarking standardization with the IETF's Benchmarking Methodology Working Group, where he currently has numerous Internet Drafts in progress.

Prior to joining Avici in 1997, Scott held network engineering positions with General DataComm and Raytheon Company. Scott has a MSEE from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a BSEE from the University of Vermont. He has three IEEE published papers and a patent for extensions to ATM signaling.
